Despite the fact that it only released at the tail end of the month, Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 managed to become the best-selling game of March 2018, with the title having nearly doubled sales of the third entry in the franchise. With this being the case, there are surely a plethora of fans who have now completed all that the first-person shooter has to offer and are looking forward to its forthcoming DLC. Thankfully, the wait shouldn’t be too long, as the publisher and developer has officially confirmed the first add-on, Hours of Darkness, is set to be available on June 5, 2018.
In order to get Far Cry 5 fans primed and ready for the action to come in Hours of Darkness, Ubisoft released a teaser trailer of the DLC, which can be found directly below. In the expansion content, players will take on the role of Hope County’s Wendell “Red” Redler from the title’s main campaign. The character will be tasked with finding and rescuing his squad from enemy forces during the Vietnam War.
As detailed by Ubisoft, Far Cry 5 fans can play through Hours of Darkness in either solo or online co-op, with the DLC featuring new gear and abilities, as well as two different playable modes. After finishing the expansion, players will unlock Survivor Mode and Action Movie mode. The former strips down one’s weaponry and ups the challenge, while the latter offers up additional weapon slots and increases the airstrike ability.
Those looking to experience Hours of Darkness can either pick it up as a standalone product for $12, or by way of Far Cry 5‘s Season Pass and Gold Edition. As of now, there’s no telling just how long the first round of DLC will take to complete, so fans can at least look forward to the launch of Lost on Mars and Dead Living Zombies later this year, which are going to release in July and August, respectively. Hopefully, Hours of Darkness will provide a sumptuous boost of additional content for all fans to enjoy.
Far Cry 5 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
