May has been a huge (and busy) month for Pokemon GO players. Events are coming and going every few week, there was a very popular Community Day, and three different Legendary Battle Raid bosses have been up for grabs. Currently, there are two level five Battle Raid bosses available and many Pokemon GO players are starting to feel a little frustrated.
These frustrations stem from the short period of time that players have to complete a raid after the boss appears. Usually, when there is only one Legendary raid boss in rotation, players can start planning as soon as the egg appears, rather than when it hatches. When there are two possible bosses that could hatch though, many players won’t commit to the raid until they find out which boss is spawning, which only leaves less than an hour to organize, travel, and finish the raid.
In addition to the frustrations surrounding the boss reveals, many players are also citing a much higher hatch rate for Ho-Oh than there is for Latias (in the Americas). With Latias only available for a few weeks, many players are starting to worry that they won’t get a chance to catch one for their dex entry if all of the Legendary spawns around them are taken up by Ho-Oh.
Obviously, fans will always find something to be unhappy about (like this long list of bugs), but these do feel like valid concerns for many of the casual players. Legendary raids are a tricky feature that seem to be very profitable, but also lead to lots of complaints from the community. Niantic will likely continue to tweak the spawns and boss appearances in an effort to balance profits and make the fans happy.
There hasn’t been an announcement about which bosses will appear after Latias and Latios fly away, but we’ll post an update as soon as we learn more. Until then, good luck trainers.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
