Fortnite Season 4 Map Sees New Changes

Fortnite Season 4 Map Sees New Changes

Without a doubt, Fortnite‘s Season 4 has brought about a host of changes to Epic Games’ wildly popular sandbox survival title, with one of the most major alterations coming about due to the long-awaited collision of the meteor strike on what was formerly Dusty Depot. In addition to this specific amendment, the overall map itself has had a plethora of design revamps take place following the implementation of the recent Update 4.2.

For starters, one of Fortnite‘s most frequented areas – that is, Tilted Towers – has had its small crater filled in with construction to make it seem as if a crew has been working hard to repair the spot’s city-like environment after the aforementioned meteor strike. What’s more is that the developers have decided to move the Hop Rocks inside the back of a nearby truck, with these changes sure to give Tilted Tower fans a sense of refreshing revisions being made.

In addition to Tilted Towers getting a tune up, Epic Games has decided to show some progress on Dusty Divot in more ways than one. For instance, the giant glowing rock that fell from the sky is now fully covered with what appears to be a nearly completed research facility. As seen in the second image below, the comet in question has had someone drilling a hole into it, which has revealed a material giving off a red glow in addition to a type of metal rod found on the inside.

While the updates made in Tilted Towers and Dusty Divot are somewhat expansive, Retail Row has seen its share of changes, too, albeit with a smaller tweak. As it so happens, Epic Games has decided to replace the ice cream truck with a different food truck owned by a company called “Fork Knife,” which is, of course, a direct reference to what fans have been calling Fortnite for quite some time. This change shows that the studio is definitely listening to the player base and is capable of being in on the joke as well.

All things considered, Fortnite‘s fan base will almost assuredly see these adjustments to the game’s map as a fun reason to keep coming back for more, as it sets a precedent for Epic Games to continue modifying the environment with various changes in the future. In fact, many players are already looking forward to what could be in store for Season 5’s map, with many theories revolving around the secret villain lair that houses nukes.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
