In honor of notorious hedonist Emperor Calus, Bungie has added the Opulent Clap emote to Destiny 2. The emote is now available to players through Eververse.
The motions in the new emote will be very familiar to Destiny 2 players who have fought through the Leviathan raid and faced down the final boss, Emperor Calus. The inspiration for the emote comes from certain moments during this encounter, where Calus will clap his hands and send some of the fire team to his mindscape. The emote might also be recognized by those who have seen the clap featured in a series of memes and parodies online, with one particularly popular video set to “HandClap” by Fitz and The Tantrums.
In other Destiny 2 news, the game’s second expansion, Warmind, releases today. Warmind brings a new story that focuses on the mysterious and powerful Warminds of Destiny lore, as the title alludes, and also adds a selection of new features to the game. Some of these features include updates to Exotics, new strikes, as well as new themed gear. Guardians who have taken an extended break and haven’t played the previous expansion will be pleased to know that they can dive right into Warmind without purchasing Curse of Osiris beforehand.
Another new feature is the Prismatic Matrix system, which has been implemented in an effort to revamp the Eververse store and change how Guardians obtain rewards. Essentially, players will earn Prismatic Facets that can be spent on a selection of Eververse items that rotate each week. According to Bungie, this feature is meant to give players more control over rewards and to help reduce duplicates. As with any new feature to the game, it can take a while to get the hang of it, which is why we created a handy guide on how the Pristmatic Matrix works.
Destiny 2 Warmind is now available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
