Ever since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds exited early access in December 2017 and added the desert map Miramar, fans have been wondering what’s next for the ultra-popular battle royale game. As it turns out, they may learn some details about future updates sooner rather than later, if community manager Sammie Kang is to be believed.
According to Kang, the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds development team is working on a roadmap that will detail plans for “early 2018.” Kang promised that the team will share this roadmap with the community once all the details have been finalized, but didn’t offer an exact day when fans can expect the information.
Kang also didn’t clarify if this applied to all versions of PUBG or just the PC version of the game. Since PUBG on Xbox One is still in early access, the community may be more interested in learning when that version of the game will be ready to have its proper launch. As it stands, the Xbox One version of PUBG still needs to address a number of lingering technical issues, as well as add content like the desert map Miramar before it will even be close to what the game offers on PC.
Our dev team has been working on a dev roadmap for early 2018 in the past few weeks.
It's about time we update you on what's happening and where things are at. We will share this roadmap with you soon once we have finalized all the details.
Happy Valentine’s Day, btw.

There’s also the mobile versions of PUBG to take into account. While they’re only available in China at the time of this writing, the mobile versions of PUBG could potentially make their way to other regions. After all, the game has been immensely popular on PC and consoles, so it would make sense for the developers to try to capitalize on its popularity with a worldwide mobile release that could potentially bring in more casual players.
Perhaps the new PUBG development roadmap will tackle all versions of the game, or maybe it will just focus on new updates for the PC version in early 2018. Regardless, considering we’re halfway through February, fans shouldn’t have to wait long for these early 2018 updates after the development roadmap is released.
