Since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has launched on Xbox One, the game has been a massive success. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has now managed to sell 4 million units on Xbox One alone, and to celebrate the occasion, PUBG Corporation is gifting console players with a whopping 30,000 free battle points.
To get the 30,000 free battle points in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One, players simply need to create a character by January 31. 30,000 free battle points will then be deposited into their account on February 1, which is quite a significant chunk of change, as any PUBG player can attest.
30,000 battle points will go quite far, actually, especially if players wait for the loot box prices to reset every week. Even if players used certain strategies to get battle points as fast as possible, it would still take quite awhile to amass a 30,000 BP fortune, so many will likely appreciate the gesture from PUBG Corporation.
Free battle points are nice and all, but other players may be more concerned with more substantial content and not cosmetic items. Unfortunately, we still have no idea when the Miramar desert map will be making its way to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One, but if the game follows a similar development timeline as its PC counterpart, the new map could be many months away.
It stands to reason that the desert map will be added to PUBG on Xbox One when the game exits early access, similarly to how the map was introduced to the PC version of the game. While an exact release window for PUBG‘s full launch on Xbox One isn’t available at this time, it seems likely that PUBG Corporation will be aiming for the game to exit early access at some point later this year.
In the meantime, the 30,000 free battle points coming February 1 should at least ensure that players have impressive gear while they wait for the Xbox One version of PUBG to receive more substantial content updates.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now for PC and on Xbox One through the Game Preview program.
