Another major update is headed to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp that adds a couple new features, as well as some commonly requested quality of life changes.
It’s been two months since Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp launched worldwide, which is plenty of time to experience all of its content. Nintendo must know that campers are hungry for more because today the company released some early details on what changes are heading soon to the game.
As for entirely new features, the update will allow players to change the terrain in certain areas of their campsites, which will add some welcomed customization options. Furthermore, campers will also be able to place more than one rug, finally ending a major decorating dilemma.
One cute new addition will be the option for players to pick out new looks for their animal friends. It’s a great new feature because, let’s face it, some of these critters are in desperate need of a makeover. Even though fashion shouldn’t have limitations, there will be a few restrictions on what certain animals will be able to wear. Speaking of clothing, it appears that the anticipated clothing crafting feature will not be making an appearance in the new update, as there was no mention of it.
After listening to player feedback, the update will also bring some quality of life changes to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. First off, it will be easier to ask for help at the Shovelstrike Quarry. There will be an added option to ask multiple players, instead of having to monotonously request help one player at a time. The Market Box will receive adjustments to make it easier, and likely more accessible, than it is now. Additionally, new fish and bugs will arrive at the campgrounds for players to catch.
Last month, the game received its first real update. A gardening area was added to player campsites, allowing them to grow flowers and parlay them into furniture. It didn’t add anything terribly exciting but did create yet another thing for players to grind daily. What’s worse is the new furniture available through this feature are merely reskinned versions of items already available. For those who enjoy the grind, the upcoming update will make some tweaks to the Gardening feature, making it easier to manage all of it at once.
It’s been two months since Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp released worldwide, and was notable for being the second biggest launch of a Nintendo mobile game, next to Super Mario Run. Surprising many, it also had a bigger launch than Pokemon GO.
Since then, there has only been one major update, so players are ready and raring for the next one. While the details of the next update have been released, the date it will go live has not. Though this recent flood of information could indicate that it will be arriving soon.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is out now for Android and iOS devices.
