Xur is back for Destiny 2 players to spend their Legendary Shards on a selection of exotic armor, a unique exotic weapon, and a few special Xur-only consumables. The Agent of the Nine is a somewhat mysterious figure but his appearance typically brings joy to players looking to fill out their exotic collection.
This week, players can find Xur on planet Earth in the European Dead Zone patrol area. Specifically, Xur is hanging out on a cliff’s edge in the Winding Cove section of the EDZ. Look to the South of the map for his icon.
Xur’s exotic armor selection this week includes The Stag helmet for Warlocks, the Shinobu’s Vow gauntlets for Hunters, and the Mk. 44 Stand Asides boots for Titans. All three of the exotic armor pieces are new exotics introduced (or re-introduced from Destiny 1) to Destiny 2 with the launch of the Curse of the Osiris DLC.
The Stag is a cool-looking helmet and is focused on the Warlock’s Rift class ability. Any time the player is wounded they will gain Rift energy and if they die the character leaves a Healing Rift on its corpse.
Shinobu’s Vow is for the Arcstrider Hunter fan, giving the subclass better tracking on its skip grenade and an additional charge for one too. Back in Destiny 1, the exotic was a huge boon to the Bladedancer but since grenades are not as strong in Destiny 2, the exotic gauntlets are less desirable.
And finally, the Mk. 44 Stand Asides boots give Titans an overshield if they are sprinting with full health and their shoulder charge ability is active. What’s special about the boots this time around is that every Titan class has a form of shoulder charge ability, so there is always the opportunity for an overshield.
Xur’s exotic weapon this week is the Colony grenade launcher, a fun new addition with the Curse of Osiris DLC. Most will recognize the exotic as the weapon that fires tiny, enemy-seeking robo-spiders. It really is a unique weapon to use and it’s fun to watch the spiders seek out their prey.
The only problem with the exotic is that it is currently bugged on PC. If a PC player is running a frame rate higher than about 60 frames per second (which most are) then the robo-spider grenades do not track any enemies. Just something to be aware of.
